A judge said 18-year-old Arion Kurtaj remains a high risk to the public, according to a report from the BBC.

Lapsus$ hacker Arion Kurtaj, pivotal in the Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) leak, received a life sentence in a hospital prison, as per the BBC. A UK judge, citing ongoing cybercrime intent, deemed him a high public risk.

In August, a London jury found Kurtaj guilty of cyberattacks on Rockstar Games, Uber, and Nvidia. Autism deemed him unfit for trial; focus shifted to establishing acts, not intent.

The court heard of Kurtaj’s violence in custody, prompting dozens of injury reports. A mental health assessment confirmed his persistent cybercrime intent. Unless doctors declare otherwise, he faces a life term.

While on bail, Kurtaj leaked 90 GTA VI gameplay videos, later attacking Rockstar Games using an Amazon Fire Stick. Another 17-year-old from Lapsus$ received an 18-month community sentence, with VPN use banned.

Despite citing the GTA VI trailer’s success in defense, the judge emphasized Lapsus$’ real-world impact. Rockstar Games spent $5 million on recovery.
