In the midst of the ongoing Spotify controversy involving Joe Rogan, the popular podcaster has been presented with a tempting offer. Chris Pavlovski, CEO of Rumble, a Canadian video-sharing platform, extended a $100 million proposal to Rogan, encouraging him to join their platform, which is considered a right-wing alternative to major streaming services.

Rumble, founded in 2013, has gained attention as a potential competitor to YouTube and other “big tech” platforms, featuring personalities such as Dinesh D’Souza, Dan Bongino, and Steve Bannon. The platform recently made headlines by striking a deal with Truth Social, the social media app of former President Donald Trump.

Despite identifying as a liberal, Joe Rogan has often stirred controversy with his right-wing views on various topics. The offer from Rumble comes after Spotify removed nearly 70 episodes of “The Joe Rogan Experience” from its platform due to concerns about the content, particularly relating to anti-vaccine discussions and a compilation of Rogan using racial slurs.

Rogan’s existing deal with Spotify, signed in 2020, is reportedly valued at over $100 million. The recent offer from Rumble follows Spotify CEO Daniel Ek’s reaffirmation of support for Rogan, stating that silencing him is not the solution.

The stock of Spotify, which experienced significant gains following the Rogan deal, has seen a decline in recent weeks, partly attributed to the controversy. However, Ek emphasized that the impact of the controversy on Spotify’s user base is still uncertain, with potential consequences measured in months rather than days.

In addition to the financial offer, Rumble’s CEO emphasized the platform’s commitment to free speech and lack of censorship, positioning it as an alternative for creators seeking an unrestricted platform. Whether Rogan will consider the offer and potentially make a move from Spotify remains to be seen, but the controversy continues to generate discussions about the intersection of free speech, content moderation, and platform loyalty.
